Our Presiding Bishop

Rev Dr Joel M Thomas

My Reflections

I thank God for our Fore-Fathers and Mothers, whom God inspired to build the foundation of Church of God World Wide Mission International. We know that the strength of every building is determined by its foundation. Our Fore-Parents had the zeal and determination to seize every opportunity which was available to them to build this church. Against all the challenges they faced, they were fearless in developing and progressing this organisation to the next level. As a result of their hard work and sacrifice and with all the resources now available to us, my generation would fail, if we did not take this ministry to the next dimension.

I am encouraged because I know the glory of the latter house is greater than that of the former house. The first rain moistens and softens the soil, so the farmer can till and prepare the soil for the seed.

This is what our Fore-Parents did; they prepared the foundation of this church for growth. The latter rain comes so that the crop can receive the rain before the harvest and this is the season that we are in. I rejoice and am exceedingly glad because we are experiencing the latter rain harvest of blessing because of the former rain sowing.

I know we will not be able to obtain, possess and maintain the abundance of this harvest if we remain static and ignorant of God’s will for this ministry. We need to continue to build and develop our knowledge through all the opportunities, re- sources and people that are available to us today.

My Aspirations

My vision is to discover, develop and deploy people, so they flourish and find their true purpose. My professional and theological input into this ministry through the Academy, Leaders and other learning channels, is an intentional action.

We are running a race to win souls and develop the kingdom, according to God’s will and purpose. This, I want to see progress with the spirit of excellence.

Church of God World Wide Mission International

My ultimate goal is that as a team, we run and finish the race, with endurance, patience, love, joy, faith, hope and peace. In a team of relay athletes, the best person is chosen to run a specific lap, based on their strength, skill and fitness. Likewise, we need to be intentional in honing and growing the necessary skills, talents and expertise with which we will continue the vision and mission for Church of God World Wide Mission International. What a privilege and honour it is, to be participating in this lap of the race!

As our Fore-Parents have handed the batten over to us, we now need to also make sure we are progressing and laying down new foundations for the next generation. They have done what they needed to do for their generation.

In Acts 13 v 36, it says

Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep.

I implore everyone to be an active participant in this race. Don’t be a spectator, but be a participator.May God bless us as we continue

May God bless us as we continue in this great work! God bless you.
