Rev D R Jordan (Pioneer)

Rev David Jordan was one of the former ministers of the Church of God World Wide Mission International.  He worked alongside Re. Dr Michael Ramsey as Overseer of the fellowship until his death in 2005.

Over the years of his ministry, he travelled to Africa, Jamacia, Barbados, St Vincent and the United States of America ministering. Rev Jordan and Rev Ramsey went on their first missionary trip which was a call from three Evangelists in Reading to the island of St.Vincent and Barbados where they began to establish churches.

Rev Jordan began the work with Dulwich assembly with three people; himself, his wife Una Jordan and Judette Hurley.  He began it with a Sunday School of 25 children which came from the Croydon, Sydenham and Dulwich areas. It continued to increase through his consistent work.

The one thing God always gave this church is young people. Rev Jordan would drive the van, teach Sunday School and whatever God laid on his heart to do. and he gave his all to the ministry.

His favourite songs were: “Thank you, Lord, for your blessings on me, My burdens kept me humble and Teach me to pray” His favourite chorus was ” All God’s children got a shoe”.  One of the things he would do is sit and write out scriptures.
